AGS NEWS – Israel remains on high alert amid concerns of a potential direct attack from Iran following the recent airstrike in Syria that resulted in the deaths of two Iranian generals.
According to CBS News, there are reports of a possible attack targeting Israel Defense Forces positions, which could involve more than 100 drones and dozens of missiles.
US officials have cautioned that defending against such a large-scale bombardment would be challenging for Israel.

However, they also suggested that Iran might opt for a smaller-scale attack to avoid further escalating tensions.
An adviser to Iran’s Ayatollah Ali Khamenei stated that plans for retaliation are being considered, with some form of response expected soon after Israel’s strike on April 1, which killed seven Iranian military officers.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has emphasized Israel’s readiness to defend itself both defensively and offensively.
However, security experts, including former Mossad official Sima Shine, express concerns about the potential for escalation and the impact on the region.

The situation has prompted US officials, including Joint Chiefs Chairman Gen. Charles Q. Brown Jr., to work towards preventing a war and ensuring the protection of forces in the region.
As a precaution, the US State Department has issued a warning to Americans in Israel, advising them to avoid traveling outside major cities, which are better protected by the Iron Dome missile defense system.
