AGS NEWS – Police officers from the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) of the Lagos State Police Command seized 85 motorcycles, commonly known as okada, from various parts of the state on Thursday.
According to a statement released on Friday, the operation was spearheaded by CSP Olayinka Egbeyemi, the RRS Commander, with support from the Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA) enforcement team.

The targeted areas included Ojodu Berger, Aguda (Ikeja), Iju Road, Agege, Iyana Ipaja Bridge, Abule Egba, and Ogba.
This initiative, aimed at curbing the use of motorcycles on prohibited routes, follows a similar operation two weeks ago where 257 motorcycles were impounded under Egbeyemi’s leadership.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Adegoke Fayoade, assured that such efforts would continue until compliance is achieved.
It was reported that the Lagos State Task Force conducted a crackdown on commercial motorcycles and squatters who had erected shanties along the rail tracks in the Fagba area.
In the follow-up operation after the inauguration of the Red Line Rail project, the task force impounded 359 bikes and demolished several shanties.
