AGS NEWS – A 25-year-old individual identified as Abba Ibrahim has been arrested by the Kano State Police Command for allegedly fatally stabbing Zaharadeen Iliyasi, 22, in the neck with a knife.

This tragic incident was reported by the command’s spokesperson, SP Abdullahi Kiyawa, in a statement released on Monday.

Upon receiving the distress call regarding the disagreement between the two friends in Chiranci Dorayi Quarters Kano, the Commissioner of Police, Mohammed Gumel, swiftly ordered the sealing of all entry and exit points in the state to prevent the suspect from escaping.

According to the statement, the victim, Zaharaddeen Iliyasu, was rushed to Murtala Mohammed Specialist Hospital, Kano, where he was pronounced dead by a medical doctor on duty.

The suspect, Abba Garba Ibrahim, was apprehended while attempting to flee to Niger Republic.

Following the arrest, Ibrahim confessed to committing the act under the influence of intoxicating drugs during preliminary investigations.

The Commissioner of Police assured residents of a thorough investigation and prosecution, urging continued cooperation with law enforcement.
