AGS NEWS – NDLEA operatives have detained a 35-year-old woman, Chidinma Chinenye-Agbazue, at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos.
She was apprehended while trying to export 20 parcels of Cannabis Sativa weighing 10.70kg to Doha, Qatar.
The illicit drugs were concealed within African salad, commonly known as Abacha, and dried vegetables.
The operation, conducted jointly with the Department of State Services, also involved the rejection of a N5 million bribe from another suspect in Lagos.

According to NDLEA spokesperson Femi Babafemi, Chidinma was intercepted during the screening process at Terminal 11 of the MMIA.
Preliminary investigations revealed that she had received the consignment at a hotel in Ikotun, Lagos, before her departure.
Two other suspects, Monday Okeke and Chigozie Emeka, were arrested in Lagos with 842,560 pills of opioids, including tramadol, along with codeine syrup and Molly.
In Bayelsa, NDLEA operatives thwarted attempts by three suspects to smuggle opioids, including codeine, molly, tramadol, and diazepam, totaling 73.425kg, to the creeks in Southern Ijaw.
Meanwhile, Eniola Muyideen and Bankole Shuaib were apprehended in Ogun State with 71kg of cannabis, while Abubakar Mohammed and Apaji Vincent were arrested in Taraba with tramadol and cannabis, respectively.
In Abia State, Nwachukwuu Chinedu was arrested with various illicit substances, including cannabis, tramadol, methamphetamine, and rohypnol, as well as a sum of N71,500.
NDLEA intercepted 127.5kg of cannabis in Ondo State and 400 bottles of codeine syrup in Kano, leading to additional arrests.

The agency also seized 73.8kg of cannabis and tramadol in a truck traveling from Lagos to Kano.
278kg of cannabis was recovered in Edo State, and over 3,065kg was destroyed on farms in the same state, resulting in the arrest of three suspects.
