AGS NEWS – Lizzo, aged 35, shocked fans by announcing her departure from the music industry in a recent Instagram post on Friday, March 29.
In her post, the singer expressed exhaustion from constant criticism and scrutiny over her appearance, stating she was “tired of getting dragged by everyone.”
She emphasized her desire to focus on making music, spreading happiness, and contributing positively to the world.

However, she lamented feeling unwelcome due to persistent negativity, lies, and disrespect directed towards her.
Lizzo cited instances of being targeted for clout, facing ridicule based on her appearance, and enduring character assassination from strangers.
Frustrated by these challenges, she declared her decision to quit the industry, stating, “I didn’t sign up for this s**t. I quit.”
The announcement comes after a period of relative silence from Lizzo, following allegations of sexual harassment from her backup dancers last year.
Despite the controversy, she made a notable appearance at the Grammy Awards last month, presenting an award to SZA.
