Kanu, who has been held since 2021 following his extradition from Kenya, had his bail application denied by Justice Binta Nyako on Tuesday, citing his health condition.
Kanu’s younger brother, Emmanuel, issued a statement urging President Bola Tinubu to intervene and ensure Kanu receives proper medical care.
The family criticized the political leaders in the South-East for their perceived inaction in advocating for Kanu’s release, alleging that some benefit from his continued detention.
