Man United’s Kobbie Mainoo called up for England’s matches against Brazil and Belgium

AGS NEWS – Kobbie Mainoo, a young talent from Manchester United, has received his first call-up to the England national team for their upcoming friendly matches against Brazil and Belgium.

Mainoo, aged 18, has been making a name for himself as one of United’s standout players in his breakthrough season.

Having impressed in 20 appearances for United’s central midfield, Mainoo has been elevated to the England squad as they prepare for Euro 2024.

Initially part of the England Under-21 squad, Mainoo has now been promoted to Gareth Southgate’s senior team.

Mainoo’s opportunity to represent England comes as they prepare for their final matches before Southgate announces his squad for the European Championship in Germany.

England is set to play against Brazil at Wembley on Saturday and host Belgium on March 26.

This call-up presents Mainoo with a chance to showcase his talents and vie for a spot in the Euro 2024 squad.

Southgate has expressed admiration for Mainoo’s abilities, noting his promising start to his career and emphasizing the importance of monitoring his progress.

Mainoo, who joined Manchester United at the age of nine, made his debut in a League Cup match against Charlton in 2023.
