Abdullahi emphasized the importance of addressing the challenges faced by those who have lost their spouses, particularly during the mourning period.

He noted disparities between existing leave policies and cultural practices, suggesting that extended leave would better accommodate mourning customs.

Citing examples from different cultural and religious backgrounds, Abdullahi highlighted the varying mourning periods and traditions observed across Nigeria.

He argued that a standardized leave duration might not adequately reflect the diverse cultural practices and needs of bereaved individuals.
