AGS NEWS – The Okuama community in Ughelli South Local Government Area of Delta State has been destroyed following the tragic killing of fifteen soldiers.
According to reports from LIB, the soldiers were ambushed and killed by youths while responding to a distress call amid a communal clash between Okuama and Okoloba communities on Thursday, March 14, 2024.

Troops of the joint task force, under the leadership of Major General Jamal Abdussalam, the General Officer Commanding 6 Division Nigerian Army, recovered fourteen bodies of the slain soldiers early on Saturday, March 16, at Okuama community.
Some of the recovered corpses were found beheaded, while others had their stomachs and hearts ripped out.
Channel Television reports suggest strong allegations that enraged soldiers may have retaliated by committing these gruesome acts following the loss of their comrades.

Efforts to bring the perpetrators to justice continue, with soldiers led by Major General Jamal Abdussalam conducting manhunts and making arrests.
The situation has instilled fear among residents of the coastal community, leading many to flee to neighboring Ughelli to escape potential reprisals from the soldiers, who have been patrolling the creek.
