Female entrepreneurs offer SME advice at UBA business series: Focus on self investment and business structure

AGS NEWS – Female entrepreneurs participating in a United Bank for Africa (UBA) Business Series event have advised Small and Medium Scale Enterprises (SMEs) operators and aspiring business owners to prioritize meeting specific needs and personal development as key steps towards establishing successful brands in both the short and long term.

During the Women’s Day edition of the UBA Business Series event at the bank’s Head office in Lagos, successful businesswomen highlighted the importance of self-investment and having a sound business structure as crucial elements for building and expanding businesses.

Panellists at the event included Chioma Ikokwu, co-founder and CEO of Good Hair Ltd; Atilola Moronfolu, Founder of African Naturalistas; Onyeka Michael-Ugwu, Founder of Hello Perfect; and Oshuwa Tunde-Imoyo, Actress/Founder and Chief Executive Officer of NOUA Skin. They discussed the theme “Herstory.”

Chioma stressed the significance of meaningful partnerships and being intentional about business offerings. Onyeka emphasized the importance of building a capable team to support business growth.

Atilola highlighted the advantage of having a proper business structure and separating personal and business finances.

Oshuwa discussed the importance of education and self-investment for making informed business decisions.

Alero Ladipo, UBA’s Group Head of Marketing and Corporate Communications, praised the panellists for sharing their insights and emphasized UBA’s commitment to supporting SMEs, especially those led by women, through educational initiatives aimed at fostering successful businesses.
