AGS NEWS – Billionaire industrialist Aliko Dangote has honored the late Herbert Wigwe by naming the 120km road leading to his refinery in Lagos after the renowned businessman.
The tribute, announced during a special event titled ‘Celebrating Herbert Wigwe – A Professional Legacy’ at Eko Hotel, Lagos, on Monday, reflects Dangote’s recognition of Wigwe’s exceptional contributions to the project.
In his remarks, Dangote praised Wigwe’s commitment and expertise, describing him as a beloved friend, brother, and mentee.

The decision to name the major refinery and petrochemical road after Wigwe is a testament to the impact he made in the industry.
The announcement comes following the tragic helicopter crash on February 9, which claimed the lives of Wigwe, his wife Doreen, son Chizi, and former Group Chairman of Nigerian Exchange Group, Abimbola Ogunbanjo.
