Photographer affiliated with Niger state governor’s office killed by unknown assailants

AGS NEWS – The tragic death of a 33-year-old photographer, Zacheaus Salawadeen, has shocked the community in Niger State.

Salawadeen, a father of three and Special Assistant on Communication in the Office of the Political Adviser to the Niger State Governor, was reportedly stabbed to death in the early hours of Tuesday, February 27, 2024, at his residence in the Tundun Fulani area of Minna.

According to reports from residents, assailants invaded Salawadeen’s flat where he lived with his family, forcibly entering and stabbing him to death.

The attackers then proceeded to ransack the apartment, stealing valuable items such as his laptop and camera.

Confirming the incident, the spokesperson of the State Police Command, DSP Wasiu Abiodun, stated, “On 27/2/2024 at about 0850hrs, it was reported at Bosso Division that on the same date at about 0330hrs, one Zacheaus, 33yrs, of Tudun-Fulani, Minna was attacked in the house by a yet-to-be-identified person(s), who stabbed and robbed him of valuables.

He was rushed to the IBB Hospital where he was confirmed dead.”

The police have launched an investigation into the incident, with preliminary findings suggesting that the attackers forcibly gained entry into the victim’s home before committing the crime.

Salawadeen, originally from Okene, Kogi State, was a graduate of the Federal University of Technology, Minna.
