In the Instagram video shared before news of his lawsuit broke on Monday, February 26, Jones appealed to his followers for financial support to take legal action against Diddy.
He expressed grievances over royalties and publishing issues related to Diddy’s album nominations at the Grammys, claiming he had been financially mistreated.
Jones initiated a GoFundMe campaign titled “Help Me Sue Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs” two days prior to the Instagram video, with a fundraising goal of $50,000.
Neither in the GoFundMe description nor in his video did Jones mention the sexual assault allegations he later included in his lawsuit against Diddy.

In his lawsuit, Jones accused Diddy of coercing him into sexual activities, including interactions with sex workers and exposure to explicit content, while working for him.
While online discussions earlier focused primarily on business disputes with Diddy, Jones’s legal action has brought forth additional claims of sexual misconduct.
