AGS NEWS – The Qatari government has declined Nigerian President Bola Tinubu’s request to visit Qatar for a business and investment meeting.
They cited the absence of a legal agreement between the two countries as the reason for their refusal.
In a letter addressed to Nigeria’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Qatari authorities explained that they could not accommodate President Tinubu’s proposed forum scheduled for March 2 and 3 due to prior commitments of their Ministry of Commerce.

Qatar highlighted that there was no existing agreement between the two nations regarding the promotion and protection of investments.
They mentioned that their Minister of Commerce and Industry would be engaged in official missions outside the country during the period of Tinubu’s visit, making him unavailable for meetings.
Qatar also mentioned hosting its own web summit during the same time frame, indicating that their officials would be occupied with that event.
