Soldiers open fire as hoodlums hijack trucks, loot food in Niger state

AGS NEWS – Soldiers fired shots as suspected hoodlums seized trucks carrying food supplies in Niger State’s Suleja area, causing chaos on February 22, 2024.

Witnesses reported that trailers from Abuja to Kaduna were obstructed by the hoodlums, who stole numerous bags of rice and other goods before the military intervened.

Despite soldiers’ efforts, many perpetrators managed to escape with stolen items.

Reports suggest that motorcycle taxi riders were contemplating a protest, possibly related to the incident.
