AGS NEWS – During the opening of the 2024 First Plenary Assembly of the Catholic Bishops Conference of Nigeria (CBCN) on Sunday, February 18, Olayemi Cardoso, the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), emphasized the challenges of his role, labeling it as the second most demanding job globally.
Cardoso, who also chaired the event, expressed optimism about the effectiveness of the Federal Government’s reforms and initiatives, noting that they are yielding positive results.

He underscored his commitment to navigating the economic landscape, acknowledging recent positive developments such as a $1.8 billion influx into the markets based on recent CBN reports.
Asserting that there is a glimmer of hope amidst the challenges, Cardoso highlighted the potential for Nigeria to overcome its economic difficulties and stabilize the foreign exchange market, provided the country maintains its positive trajectory.
