AGS NEWS – President Bola Tinubu has announced his stance against food importation and the establishment of a price control board, following a meeting with 36 state governors, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, the National Security Adviser (NSA), and the Director General of the Department of State Services (DSS) in Abuja on Thursday.
Expressing concerns over reports of significant food hoarding in warehouses in Kano State and other areas, Tinubu directed the NSA, Inspector-General of Police, and Director-General of DSS to collaborate closely to ensure that security agencies inspect such facilities and take appropriate action.’

Addressing the issue, Tinubu emphasized the need to prevent speculators, hoarders, and rent seekers from undermining efforts to ensure food accessibility for all Nigerians.
In a statement, the President asserted, “I will not establish a price control board, nor will I approve the importation of food.”
AGS NEWS reports that he emphasized the necessity of breaking free from dependency on imports, which he believes facilitates fraudulent activities and mismanagement.
