US reveals images of helicopter crash site where Ogunbanjo, Wigwe, wife, and son died

The United States National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) has disclosed details of the tragic helicopter crash that claimed the lives of Herbert Wigwe, Chief Executive Officer of Access Holdings, and five others.

The Airbus EC130 helicopter went down near the California-Nevada border close to Halloran Springs, resulting in the fatalities of Wigwe, his wife Doreen, their son Chizi Wigwe, and former Nigerian Exchange Group Chairman Abimbola Ogunbanjo.

Photos released on Tuesday, Feb. 13, showed two NTSB officials examining the wreckage of the helicopter, shedding light on the aftermath of the accident.

NTSB board member Michael Graham provided an update on Sunday, Feb. 11, detailing the initial investigation activities, which included aerial drone mapping, site documentation, and a thorough examination of the debris field by the airworthiness group.

The debris field spanned approximately 100 yards and contained major helicopter components such as rotor blades, transmission, engine, tail rotor, landing gear skids, and various avionics components.

AGS NEWS reports that the tragic incident occurred on Friday, February 9 (Saturday morning, Feb. 10, Nigerian time), claiming the lives of all four passengers and two crew members aboard the helicopter.
