Confederation of African Football Federations President, Patrice Motsepe, has disclosed that President Bola Tinubu is expected to grace the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations final between Nigeria and the host nation, Cote d’Ivoire.
Speaking at a press briefing in Abidjan on Friday, Motsepe expressed optimism about the impending final showdown on Sunday and confirmed Tinubu’s presence among the distinguished guests.
Motsepe remarked, “I was informed that the President of Nigeria will be attending. During the Nigeria-South Africa game, I sat beside the Vice President.

Although I maintain neutrality during matches, observers noted my elation. Indeed, I am always delighted.”
Responding to inquiries regarding Africa’s potential to host the World Cup again, Motsepe suggested Nigeria consider submitting a bid.
He indicated plans to engage President Tinubu in discussions regarding this matter on Sunday, emphasizing the significance of Nigeria’s candidacy.
Motsepe lauded Lagos, stating, “If you haven’t visited Lagos, you haven’t truly experienced Africa.” He expressed pride in Nigeria and its significance within the African football landscape.
