President Bola Tinubu has returned to Nigeria’s capital, Abuja, following a two-week private trip to Paris, France.
His arrival at the Presidential Wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport around 09:00 pm local time was greeted by top government officials, including Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila, Secretary to the Government of the Federation George Akume, National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu, and Minister of the Federal Capital Territory Nyesom Wike.

Among others present were Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani, Minister of State for Petroleum Resources Heineken Lokpobiri, and Director-General of the Department of State Services Yusuf Bichi.
Although the purpose of Tinubu’s visit was undisclosed, his departure announcement on January 24 indicated his return in the first week of February 2024.
This trip marks Tinubu’s third visit to the country and his 14th foreign visit since assuming office eight months ago.
His previous visits included attending the Paris Summit for the New Global Financial Pact and the 78th United Nations General Assembly in New York.

Tinubu’s return coincides with protests in some states over rising living costs and amidst challenges such as kidnapping-for-ransom and delays in implementing promised initiatives like the student loan scheme.
