Fed govt suspends third party agents from NIN registration

The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) has temporarily halted Front-End Partners’ engagement in National Identification Number (NIN) enrolments, citing the need for a revalidation exercise due to identified infractions and unwholesome practices in the enrolment and modification processes.

The Director General of NIMC, Abisoye Coker-Odusote, emphasized the revalidation’s aim to improve the enrolment process and address outstanding debts owed to Front-End Partners, noting a commitment to data integrity and a zero-tolerance policy for corruption.

The revalidation is part of efforts to ensure compliance with high standards of data security among Front-End Partners.

Coker-Odusote also highlighted collaboration with security agencies to leverage NIN and SIM databases in addressing kidnapping concerns.
