Sa’adatu Ayuba has approached the Dei-Dei Grade I Area Court, seeking the dissolution of her 27-year marriage to Jalija, her husband, on grounds of alleged impotence.

The petitioner, who got married at 16 and is a mother of five, claims that her husband has been unfaithful, leading to marital disputes for the past two years.

Jalija denies the allegations, stating that he is not impotent and has another wife with whom he has a child.

The court has given the couple one week to settle the matter amicably, with a follow-up hearing scheduled for January 17, 2024.
