The former Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management, and Social Development, Sadiya Umar-Farouq, was permitted to leave on Monday night, January 8, following extensive questioning by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
The seasoned detectives of the EFCC had subjected her to hours of interrogation regarding the alleged laundering of N37,170,855,753.44.

Despite the intense scrutiny, in adherence to the commission’s updated protocol, Sadiya was released on bail.
According to an insider, “We have been questioning her extensively on all the matters we have singled out for investigation.

In accordance with our new approach, we will allow her to return home. However, she is expected to appear for further interrogation on Tuesday.”
