33-year-old Jennifer Selengo lost her life to a savage crocodile attack as she entered the Bua River with a group of female friends.
Despite efforts by the women and nearby onlookers to free Jennifer from the reptile’s jaws, the rescue attempt proved futile, leading to her tragic demise.
Jennifer, a resident of Zozo Village in Dowa, is unfortunately not the only victim of a reptile attack in 2024.

In the United States, a Florida woman named Gwen Cash faced a perilous encounter with an alligator while walking her Rottweiler dog, Maximus, near her Pembroke Pines home.
The alligator approached her pet, prompting Gwen to act swiftly to protect Maximus. Although she successfully pulled her dog away, Gwen was left with severe wounds on her arm after the alligator scratched her which led to her death.
