The Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA) has taken decisive action by sealing off illegal oil and gas stations in Taraba and Imo States.
Surveillance officers from the NMDPRA executed the operation, closing down Saismo General Merchants Limited in Jalingo, the capital of Taraba State, for unlawfully engaging in the sale of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG).

A video shared by the agency showcased an uncompleted building housing the illegal gas station.
The video caption emphasized the reason for sealing Saismo General Merchants Ltd, stating, ‘Surveillance officers of the authority sealed Saismo General Merchants Ltd.
Yola Road, Jalingo, Taraba State. It was sealed because the company was illegally carrying out LPG operations.’
In a parallel development, NMDPRA reported the closure of Udeking Oil & Gas Nigeria Limited along the Owerri/Aba Road, Naze, Imo State, for operating without a valid license.
The regulatory authority had previously sealed Oxkings Petroleum Limited in December, located along Owerri-Port Harcourt Road, Avu in Imo State.
This particular station was closed due to under-dispensing of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) by 470mls per liter.
