Nigeria and Napoli striker, Victor Osimhen, has expressed confidence in the Super Eagles’ prospects of winning the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.

Despite Nigeria’s last triumph being in 2013, Osimhen believes the current team, now equipped with enough quality, has the potential to secure victory in the upcoming tournament.

Speaking at a celebratory dinner in Abu Dhabi, where he was crowned Africa’s best player, Osimhen emphasized the team’s primary goal of winning the tournament in Ivory Coast.

The 25-year-old striker expressed belief in the talent within the group, stating, “I believe in this group, we have a bunch of talented players to execute the job, fingers crossed, and we are going to do so well.”

Osimhen, who was the top scorer in the AFCON 2023 qualifiers with 10 goals, remains optimistic about the Super Eagles’ performance.

The team is set to face hosts Cote d’Ivoire, Equatorial Guinea, and Guinea-Bissau in Group A.
