This microblogging platform has been notorious for activities such as Cyberstalking, incitement, Blackmail, and various other offenses, prompting public outcry over the years.

The suspects were arrested based on their involvement in the conspiracy, and their roles were outlined in the statement.

Adebukola Kolapo, also known as Omo oba Gistlover, played a significant role in creating over 80 percent of the Gistlover pages, contributing to the criminal activities.

He was responsible for scouting, editing, and captioning content, including cyberstalking posts against the complainant, Hon. and Dr. Mrs. Oluseyi Oladejo. Adebukola was also involved in laundering money obtained through the illegal scheme.

Nnedum Somtochukwu, the second suspect, collaborated in the conspiracy by redirecting traffic to new pages whenever the blog faced sanctions.

He received incentives, including referrals for promotions, for supporting the syndicate’s activities.

Isaac Akpokighe, the third suspect, imitated the Gistlover blog by creating several pages that mirrored its activities, including reposting defamatory and life-threatening posts against the complainant and other notable Nigerians.

Digital forensic analysis led to the recovery of multiple Gistlover pages, created on the syndicate’s instructions, and wallet addresses used for money laundering.
