The body of the former Governor of Ondo State, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, CON, who passed away in Germany after a prolonged struggle with prostate cancer, has returned to Nigeria.

The plane carrying his remains touched down at approximately 3:39 p.m. on Friday, January 5, 2024.

Upon arrival, the late Governor’s body was received by his wife, Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu, along with his children and siblings, with Prof. Wole Akeredolu, his immediate younger brother, leading the reception.

The former Governor, who served the people of Ondo State, passed away on December 27, 2023.
