The National Hospital Abuja (NHA) has refuted claims that it referred veteran Nollywood actor Zack Orji to a private hospital.
In an official statement signed by Tayo Haastrup, the NHA spokesman acting on behalf of the Chief Medical Director, it was clarified that the actor, who fell ill and was admitted to the hospital, was not transferred to a private facility.

According to Haastrup, Zack Orji was brought to the hospital on New Year’s Eve and initially admitted to the intensive care unit.
After stabilization, he was moved to the Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT) ward and subsequently transferred to the orthopaedic ward, where preparations for surgery commenced.

Contrary to reports, the hospital asserted that preparations for Zack Orji’s surgery were disrupted due to the signing of a “Leaving Against Medical Advice” form by the actor’s relatives on January 1, 2024.
