A student of Kogi State College of Health Science and Technology, Idah, Juliet Eneojo, has been killed by kidnappers.

The HND II Health Management student was abducted while on her way from Lokoja to her hometown, Itobe, for the New Year celebration.

Details surrounding the incident remain unclear at the time of reporting, but it has been confirmed that she lost her life at the hands of her abductors.

The tragic event occurred amid ongoing efforts to address the surge in kidnapping incidents in the region.

Security forces successfully rescued over 21 victims who were kidnapped along the Ajaokuta-Itobe Road in Kogi State.

The rescue operation, carried out by a collaborative team including the Nigerian Police Force, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, and local vigilantes, took place on Saturday.

Among the rescued victims were travelers, students, and staff of Comprehensive High School, Ajaokuta, who had been abducted on Thursday, December 28, 2023.
