The First Lady of Delta State, Tobore Oborevwori, made a special visit to the Asaba Specialist Hospital in Asaba today to extend a warm welcome to the first baby born in the state for the year.
The newborn, Destiny Onuoha, entered the world at 12:05 am, belonging to the Onuoha family.
Accompanied by representatives from the You Matter Charity Foundation, of which she is the founder, Mrs. Oborevwori toured various sections of the hospital, including the maternity complex, neonatal unit, labour, and paediatric wards.

During her visit, she generously distributed gift items, including cash, to both infants and their mothers.
In a heartwarming gesture, the governor’s wife settled a total medical bill of N1,681,000 for underprivileged adults and children, including covering the expenses for a child scheduled for surgery.
Expressing his joy and gratitude for the gifts bestowed upon his son, Onuoha Martins, the father of the first child of the year, conveyed his appreciation.

Dr. Peace Ighosewe, the Chief Medical Director of Asaba Specialist Hospital, commended the governor’s wife and her team for their generous actions, particularly in covering medical bills for five critically ill patients.
