Backstreet Boys vocalist AJ McLean and his wife, Rochelle DeAnna McLean, have made public their decision to proceed with a divorce after previously undergoing a period of separation.

The couple, AJ and Rochelle, issued a joint statement on January 1, confirming their intention to officially end their marriage.

The statement acknowledged their year-long separation and expressed the decision to move forward with the divorce while maintaining deep love and respect for each other.

Emphasizing a commitment to the healthiest possible path, they underscored friendship and co-parenting for their daughters as priorities in this new phase.

This development follows AJ and Rochelle’s announcement in March 2023 when they revealed a “temporary” separation aimed at personal growth and working on their marriage.

At that time, the couple had expressed intentions to reunite.

AJ and Rochelle, who tied the knot in 2011 after a six-year courtship, celebrated their wedding with the presence of AJ’s Backstreet Boys colleagues at the Beverly Hills Hotel.

The couple shares two children, daughters Ava (known as Elliott) and Lyric.
