A 16-year-old boy identified as Basiru Enu, a resident of Kwatau Village, Hong local government area of Adamawa state has been arrested for allegedly defiling a nine-year-old girl.

A statement released by SP Suleiman Nguroje, spokesperson of the command, said the suspect was arrested at Kala’a Division following a Complaint received from the girl’s father.

The suspect allegedly took advantage of the victim when she went to fetch water at the stream and forcefully had sexual intercourse with the little girl.

Nguroje added that the state Commissioner of Police, CP Afolabi Babatole Adeniyi, frowned at the incident and ordered the officer in charge of the Family Unit to take over the investigation and ensure the prosecution of the suspect.
