Olamide gave me career breakthrough – Zlatan

Nigerian singer and rapper Omoniyi Temidayo Raphael, popularly known as Zlatan Ibile, has credited his career’s turning point to his 2017 collaborative track with Olamide, titled ‘My Body.’

According to Zlatan, receiving a verse from the YBNL boss was a pivotal and “life-changing” moment in his musical journey.

In a recent interview with the well-known YouTuber, Korty EO, Zlatan shared the story of how he persistently sought collaboration with Olamide, reaching out through social media direct messages.

Despite initial setbacks, Zlatan’s determination eventually paid off.

Zlatan recalled, “Olamide giving me a verse at that time was life-changing for me. I was always tracking him and begging him in the DM for a verse.

He gave me appointments twice but they didn’t materialize until the third time.”

Describing the transformative encounter, Zlatan explained that he initially expected to create a rap song during the collaboration, given his inclination towards rap.

However, Olamide surprised him by initiating an Afrobeats song, ‘My Body,’ recognizing its potential to propel Zlatan to instant stardom.

“I recorded my verse, and that was how my story changed,” Zlatan concluded, emphasizing the profound impact of ‘My Body’ on his career trajectory.
