According to officials, Moses exploited the personal details the woman had provided on a private website during her search for a medical coding job in October.

Using the collected information, Moses, posing as a visa agent, contacted the victim through emails and WhatsApp.

To gain her trust, he displayed her details on an immigration site and even presented a flight ticket supposedly booked for her journey to Canada. Convinced by these proofs, the woman transferred Rs 17 lakhs to his account.

However, as Moses continued to demand more money, the woman became suspicious and lodged a complaint at the Wayanad Cyber Police Station.

Officials have seized multiple devices in his possession.
