Tinubu shouldn’t interfere in Rivers and Ondo crises – Fashola

Former Minister of Works, Babatunde Fashola, has emphasized that President Bola Tinubu’s intervention is unnecessary in the ongoing political crises in Ondo and Rivers states.

Speaking at the Nigerian Air Force Officers Mess’ Honorary Members Forum (HMF) 2023 Annual Lecture in Lagos over the weekend, Fashola underscored that the constitution clearly delineates the proper procedures and roles of officials in such situations, dismissing calls for presidential involvement.

Commending the ‘blue-blood Ondo indigenes’ who advocated for law and constitutionality during the recent crisis in their state, Fashola acknowledged that they remain a minority in their stance.

He urged the leadership in Rivers State to similarly ‘do the needful’ and emphasized the importance of citizens being accountable instead of improperly demanding presidential action.
