Marvel cuts ties with Jonathan Majors following assault conviction

Marvel has severed ties with actor Jonathan Majors, 34, after he was found guilty of assault and harassment in connection to a March incident involving his ex-partner, Grace Jabbari.

The studio announced the decision without providing further details.

Majors was arrested on March 25 after reporting finding Jabbari unconscious in their New York apartment.

Police discovered injuries on Jabbari, including a bruised and fractured finger and a cut behind an ear, leading to her hospitalization for minor injuries.

Prosecutors argued that Majors had a history of physical and psychological abuse toward Jabbari, culminating in the alleged assault.

Majors’ defense asserted that Jabbari was the actual aggressor.

Jabbari turned herself in and was arrested in October, but the Manhattan district attorney’s office chose not to pursue charges.

Majors, known for his role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, made his debut in 2021 as He Who Remains in the “Loki” Season 1 finale and later appeared as Kang the Conqueror in “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.”

Despite the silence surrounding Majors’ status with Marvel since his arrest, the studio previously stated that his legal issues did not impact the “Loki” series.
