Napoli’s striker, Victor Osimhen, is set to undergo a one-year contract extension until June 2026, with reports indicating the inclusion of a €140 million release clause.
According to sources from Osimhen’s camp, an agreement has been reached for the extension, superseding his current contract set to expire in June 2025, amidst speculations linking him to various top European clubs.

It was disclosed on Wednesday that Roberto Calenda, Osimhen’s agent, held discussions with Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis regarding the reigning Africa Footballer of The Year’s future.
De Laurentiis had previously announced an agreement to prolong Osimhen’s tenure at the Stadio Maradona.
While Napoli had initially aspired for a two-year contract extension, European transfer expert Fabrizio Romano revealed that a one-year agreement was settled upon, accompanied by a significant increase in the Super Eagles striker’s salary.
Romano reported, “Napoli reached an agreement in principle with Victor Osimhen on a new contract with a release clause between €130m and €140m in his new deal.
It will be valid until June 2026, one more year, and the Nigerian’s release clause will be around €130m.”

The 24-year-old, having outshone competitors like Egypt’s Mohamed Salah and Morocco’s Achraf Hakimi, is anticipated to mark his 95th Serie A appearance for Napoli in their upcoming match against Cagliari at the Diego Maradona stadium on Saturday.
Since his arrival in Italy in 2020 from Lille and Wolfsburg, Osimhen has notched up an impressive record, scoring 56 Serie A goals and contributing 14 assists.
