A 22-year-old woman named Florence Vandi has tragically taken her own life by ingesting a toxic substance.

Florence, a resident of Viniklang in the Girei Local Government Area, Michika LGA, committed suicide in response to the recent death of her boyfriend, Nuhu Boniface.

Boniface had passed away after a brief illness while undergoing treatment at the hospital.

The spokesperson for the state police command, SP Suleiman Nguroje, confirmed the incident, revealing that Florence, a Health Worker at Girei Primary Health Care Centre, made this unfortunate decision shortly after her boyfriend’s demise.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Afolabi Babatola, expressed sorrow over the incident and urged the public to refrain from taking the law into their own hands, encouraging them to report any suspicious activities in their neighborhoods to the police.
