Unknown gunmen abduct woman and three children in Abuja

A gang of bandits launched an attack on the Zone 5 section of the Kubwa Extension 2 Relocation Estate along Arab Road in the Federal Capital Territory.

The assault occurred on Sunday night between 8pm and 9pm, resulting in the abduction of a woman and her three children, including a six-month-old infant.

Gunmen, firing indiscriminately, created chaos in the vicinity during the assault.

A resident, who chose to remain anonymous, shared concerns with our correspondent, emphasizing that such kidnappings have become a recurring issue in the area, particularly during the month of December.

Expressing worry over the situation, the resident stated, “This kidnapping has become a regular occurrence here every December. If you remember very well, last December,

It was reported a similar incident of abduction in the area, now this is another one, and it is worrisome.”

Another resident attributed the increase in kidnappings to inadequate security measures in the area. “This kidnapping is due to a lack of adequate security in the area.

Last night they kidnapped a whole family – a mother and her three children, including a six-month-old baby here at Zone 5, Kubwa Extension 2 Relocation estate.”

As of the time of reporting, the FCT Police Command had not issued an official statement on the incident.

The FCT Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, assured our correspondent that she would investigate the matter and provide updates. “I will find out and get back to you as soon as possible, please,” Adeh stated.

Attempts to reach the FCT Commissioner of Police, Haruna Garba, for comments on the matter were unsuccessful as he did not respond to phone calls on Monday.
