Nigerian international Victor Osimhen has faced criticism from La Gazzetta dello Sport for his actions towards Juventus fans at the Allianz Stadium.
After Napoli’s 1-0 defeat to Juventus in Turin on Friday, a video surfaced showing Osimhen making a 5-1 gesture towards Juventus supporters.
However, Gazzetta deems it an action that the 24-year-old should have refrained from.

Osimhen’s gesture was a reminder to Juventus fans of their 5-1 loss against Napoli last season, but journalist Marco Ciriello expressed disapproval, stating that it showcased a “tendency to live in the past and create a bubble which isolates from the present.”
Ciriello continued by remarking that when Osimhen references a past victory after a defeat, he reveals vulnerabilities.
Despite acknowledging Osimhen’s youth and the frustration of a goal drought lasting two months, Ciriello emphasized that dwelling on the past in the aftermath of a loss exposes weaknesses.
The journalist noted that Napoli, currently sharing the fourth spot in Serie A with Roma, seem to be caught in reminiscing about the past, and he stressed that focusing on previous successes won’t lead to future victories.
Following the November break, Napoli has lost three out of four games under new coach Walter Mazzarri, who replaced Rudi Garcia.
