The 500-level student, originally from Ankpa Local Government Area of Kogi State but based in Benue State, succumbed to his injuries on Sunday morning despite immediate efforts to secure medical assistance.

Agabaidu, the eldest among four siblings attending ATBU, is remembered as the second student from Benue State in recent times to lose his life in a phone-related struggle.

Expressing grief and concern for student safety, a source within the university urged school management, the police, and the Bauchi State government to prioritize and enhance student security.

Plans for a peaceful protest by students on Monday morning were revealed, aiming to draw attention to the ongoing security challenges faced by the student community.

Students expressed frustration over the recurring incidents and called for the authorities to address the situation urgently.

The protest is intended to highlight the need for improved security measures and to convey the pain felt by the student body over such tragic events.

The call for action extends to the university management, state government, and security agencies to ensure the safety of students who have left their homes to pursue education.

Efforts to obtain a response from the school management were unsuccessful at the time of reporting.
