FG extends warm welcome to Mexican investors

The Minister of Solid Minerals Development, Dele Alake, commended the visit of investors from Mexico seeking opportunities in Nigeria’s solid minerals sector.

President Bola Tinubu’s administration has implemented incentives to facilitate business for investors, including zero-duty on equipment for solid minerals extraction, easy repatriation of profits, and tax holidays.

Alake emphasized the importance of investors signing Community Development Agreements with mining communities to ensure regional socio-economic development.

The ministry is actively addressing industry issues, such as revoking titles that fail to comply with annual service fee regulations.

Outgoing Nigerian Ambassador to Mexico, Adejare Bello, vouched for the authenticity and seriousness of the investors, assuring that their investment would contribute to economic growth.

The investors, represented by Dr. Heriberto Cortes, expressed gratitude for the fruitful discussions with the minister, underscoring their commitment to Nigeria as a strategic destination for expanding their economic footprint.
