Senate President Godswill Akpabio has lauded Governor Bassey Otu of Cross River State, expressing the All Progressives Congress’s (APC) pride in his leadership and commendation for maintaining a peaceful administration.

Akpabio, speaking at the Margaret Ekpo International Airport in Calabar, emphasized the party’s admiration for Governor Otu.

Akpabio stated that one of the primary reasons for his visit to the state was to celebrate the numerous electoral and legal victories achieved by Governor Otu, with the most recent being the Appeal Court’s affirmation of his election.

He further highlighted the strong support from the three Senators representing Cross River State in the Senate, particularly acknowledging the backing of Senator Asuquo Ekpenyong.

Additionally, Akpabio assured citizens of Cross River and Akwa Ibom states that addressing the deteriorating road infrastructure, particularly the Calabar-Uyo federal highway, holds a prominent place in the nation’s 2024 budget.

Recognizing the adverse impact of the road’s condition on both states, the former governor of Akwa Ibom assured that efforts are being prioritized to address the precarious situation.
