Mohbad’s autopsy report not with us yet – Police

The Lagos State Police Command has revealed that the autopsy report for the late singer, Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, conducted two months ago, has not yet been officially received by the police.

Today marks two months since the exhumation of Mohbad’s corpse and the commencement of the autopsy to determine the cause of the singer’s death, which occurred on September 12.

The incident sparked controversies, leading the police to establish an investigative team to unravel the circumstances surrounding Mohbad’s demise.

Previously, the Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, had announced the completion of the autopsy in September, stating that the police were awaiting the results.

In October, the then Commissioner of Police, Idowu Owohunwa, named prime suspects linked to the singer’s death, revealing details of the incident.

Several suspects were subsequently charged to court, including singers Naira Marley and Sam Larry, who were later released on bail after meeting the conditions. The investigation was prompted by online videos showing assaults against Mohbad.

When questioned about the release of Mohbad’s autopsy report on Monday, Hundeyin disclosed that the command had not received the report officially.

He clarified that the police work with facts and official documentation, not rumors.

In response to the delay, Nigerian artiste Bella Shmurda took to his social media account on Saturday, urging the police to release Mohbad’s body for a dignified funeral arrangement.

He expressed concerns about the prolonged delay and requested prompt disclosure of the autopsy results.

Hundeyin clarified that only the singer’s family lawyer could write to the pathologists to release the autopsy result, or it would be independently given to the police when ready.

The case continues to unfold as the police await the official documentation to proceed with the investigation.
