The Ondo State Sector Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has reported the arrest of 28 individuals across the state for alleged traffic offenses over the past month.
The arrests, carried out in Akure and its environs, were disclosed by the FRSC sector commander, Mr. Ezekiel Son’Allah, during a statement in Akure on Wednesday.
Mr. Son’Allah emphasized the severity of driving against traffic, labeling it a serious offense that poses a significant risk of crashes and fatal accidents.

He appealed to motorists to adhere to traffic rules, particularly discouraging the act of moving against traffic, which he noted is more prevalent among motorcycle riders.
In addition to addressing traffic violations, the sector commander urged motorists to maintain professionalism on the roads and navigate appropriately to uphold the right of way.
As the ember period unfolds, he cautioned against drinking while driving and emphasized the importance of respecting FRSC officials and other security agencies on the highways for the safety of all road users.
In a separate development, the Nigerian Navy Forward Operating Base in Igbokoda, Ondo State, apprehended a 24-year-old man, Tosin Wanlele, suspected of engaging in cult-related activities in the area.
The Executive Officer of the base, representing the Commanding Officer, Navy Captain Wasuku Alushi, revealed that the arrest was part of ongoing efforts to combat cultism and criminal activities in the military area of operation.

The suspect, identified as a notorious cultist by the head of the vigilante in Igbokoda, was allegedly involved in harassing and intimidating passers-by with dangerous weapons.
Following credible intelligence, the navy base responded to effect the arrest, and Wanlele has since been handed over to the Department of State Security for further investigation.
