The Cross River State Police have verified the kidnapping of Prof. Patrick Egaga, the Director of Servicom at the University of Calabar.

The incident occurred on Sunday night at his residence within the university staff quarters.

SP Irene Ugbo, the Public Relations Officer of the State Police Command, confirmed the abduction, stating that efforts are underway to secure his release.

The university’s PRO, Mr Effiong Eyo, also affirmed the incident and assured ongoing rescue efforts. Reports indicate that the assailants used waterways to access the staff quarters and abduct Prof. Egaga, who is a professor in the Department of Special Education at the university.
