On Saturday night, November 11, 2023, unidentified gunmen attacked the Agbeku community in Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara State, targeting the Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA).

The assailants invaded both the church’s auditorium and the residences of the victims.

Among those affected was the wife of an ECWA pastor, Mrs. Olawale, who operated a provision store in the area. Regrettably, she lost her life during the attack.

The gunmen kidnapped three individuals, including Rev Oladunni, the present ECWA Igbaja District Church Council (DCC) chairman.

Hon Rasaki Subair, a community leader, confirmed the distressing incident to Daily Trust.

According to him, not only did the assailants kill Mrs. Olawale, but another person who sustained gunshot wounds is currently fighting for their life in a hospital.

The perpetrators also abducted the aide of the late pastor’s wife and another male victim.

While the details of the incident are still emerging, a senior officer has confirmed the occurrence and stated, “We are trying to get details about the incident for now.”

The community is left grappling with the aftermath of this shocking attack on a place of worship and the abduction of innocent individuals.
