Israel agrees to 4-hour daily military ‘ceasefire’ in Gaza – White House

Israel has agreed to implement four-hour daily pauses in the ongoing conflict with Hamas militants in the northern Gaza Strip, according to the White House.

John Kirby, a spokesperson for the White House National Security Council, announced that the Israelis have assured there will be no military operations in these designated areas during the pauses.

The implementation of this temporary ceasefire is set to begin immediately.

Kirby stated, “We’ve been told by the Israelis that there will be no military operations in these areas throughout the pause and that this process is starting today.”

This development comes just a month after the escalation of an armed conflict between the Israeli military and Hamas-led Palestinian militants on October 7, 2023.

The conflict began when Hamas launched a multi-pronged invasion of Southern Israel.

Since then, the Gaza Strip has witnessed significant casualties, with reports indicating that at least 10,812 Palestinians have lost their lives in the ongoing war.
