A tragic collision occurred on Friday at the Kara area of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, involving a Mazda bus and a Howo Sino truck, resulting in two fatalities and 10 injuries.
Florence Okpe, the spokesperson for the Ogun State Sector Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), shared this information in a statement to the press.
According to Okpe, the suspected causes of the accident were “route violation and dangerous driving.” The incident took place at approximately 08:32 hrs, with a total of 14 individuals involved.
Out of these, two lost their lives immediately, 10 sustained injuries, and two emerged unharmed.

The vehicles implicated in the crash were identified as a white Mazda Bus with registration number XV945EPE and an unregistered white and blue Howo Sino Truck.
In response to the incident, injured victims were promptly transported to Famobis Hospital, while the deceased were deposited at Idera mortuary.
Ogun State Sector Commander of the FRSC, Anthony Uga, urged drivers to abstain from driving against traffic (one way) and to exercise caution on the road to ensure their safety and the safety of others.
